Restaurants and Cafés

Reservation and takeaway calls arrive at the busiest point of service and take the floor team away from their work.

What it does on the phone

  • Reserves a table — for how many, at what time; it checks capacity and finds one that fits
  • Takes takeaway orders — the item, the quantity, the total
  • Takes the address — a returning customer is not asked twice; the address on file is used
  • Reads the menu and prices — what there is today and what it costs
  • Answers the usual questions — how late you are open, parking, whether cards are accepted

A Friday evening

Of twenty-three calls, eleven are reservations, nine takeaway orders and three about opening hours. None receives an engaged tone, and floor staff continue serving.

What the setup opens

Orders, reservations, address and delivery, the price list and frequently asked questions.
